Mens SL1 v Albury

Round 11 and a road trip to Albury provided the best opportunity for the Kew boys to end an embarrassing losing streak against the bottom side that had failed to record a win to date.
Boasting close to a full-strength side with the return of Gus and Cuzz, the boys from Elgar Park made the long trip up the Hume to the border town of Albury for a grand final rematch. The early signs were positive, with Kew controlling the game and claiming the majority of attacking chances, which eventually paid off with a short-corner goal and a 1-0 lead.

However, shortly before half-time the Albury boys struck back to level the scores going into the second half. Unfortunately, the tables turned in the second half and the majority of attack was dominated by the Albury boys who, unlike Kew, made the most of their chances in front of goal.

The outcome, 3-1 to Albury and a long drive home the next day for the Kew boys. The Albury result translates into five consecutive losses for Kew, 22 goals scored against and a paltry four goals for in five games.
