Womens PB v Essendon

Well the 2′s this week took on Essendon, last time we lost to them 5-1 and still being placed 8th on the ladder we were in need of a win.The girls showed up to Essendon… mostly ready for the game. Bambi and Chels arrived straight from Albury with major sleep deprivation and car stiffness while Tina arrived hung over from a wedding. Cromie though… bursting with energy after 22 hours sleep arrived hyped up and excited.

The game started well, Cromie revved us up with the most excitement and energy i think we have ever seen from Cromie, she also kept us going with wise comments through out the game such as ‘don’t get angry Trish, it doesn’t help, i know that’.

The 2′s did some excellent switching of the ball around the field shredding the Essendon side to pieces. Melissa Reid scored the first goal diving to put in the net.  She also scored the second goal, though I can’t quite report how but I’m pretty sure it was all pure brilliance. Essendon score a goal also from some sloppy defence and then nearly scored another but this stopped when Essendon decided to run into it’s own team mate whilst she was about to wind up for a pass across the face of goals.

The inclusion of Sarah Evans to the 2′s this week was a great help, even with fractured ribs she tore up the Essendon team with her quick skills and pace and gave off lots of passes to her sister Jess who was playing right wing. We also thank Lucy and Katie who played in the 3rd’s the previous day for playing both excellent games with the 2′s.

2-1 Win
