Men’s PB v Greensborough (R2)
Result – Kew 3 – Greens 0
A miserable cold day at O’Plenty Reserve. A determined Kew Men’s Pen B team was ready for battle. The power of Greensborough was looking to devour a Kew team with 8 players under the age of 21. Kew hit them with persistent pressure and got the result required.
Two nil up at half time is always dangerous scoreline, but the Kew seconds was determined not to let the lead disappear. The goal of the day came in the second half with a fine 45 % pass from Dohey behind the defense towards the spot. Ben Hyatt recognized the opportunity and first timed into the backboard.
Possibly disappointing that more goals were not scored, but at least a strong performance by Tan in the net and Alderman and Mulder on the backline at least ensured there was no slip up this week.
Next game against MUHC, at State Hockey Centre on Saturday night at 5:00pm.
Best Players: McKay, Mulder, O’Sullivan, Lowden, Doherty
Goals: Reid, Hyatt J, Hyatt B
