Men’s Vets C West v Melton (R2)

Men’s Vets C West (COG’s) – 3-0 Loss

This week was disappointing for the boys from C West. Buoyant from a big win last week against Geelong, we made the road trip from hell with high expectations and traveled the hour plus drive to Melton.

Playing in sometimes driving rain, on a field with a near 45 degree slope (I swear its almost true), with as many lumps and bumps as a teenagers face with acne, we knew were up against it!

We dominated in the first 15 minutes of each half and then it happened … the Cranky Old Goat (forever now known as COG) syndrome struck. We got away with it in the first half and went to the break nil all. However in the second half we were mesmerized by a Scottish Highlander who stole the game from under our noses (or was that rotund bellies). With COG syndrome in full flight we could not respond.

Of note however was the formal admission of Mr. Darryl Goodall into club 50, an exclusive club and one that allows automatic admission into the even more exclusive COG club. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAZZA from the COG’s of West!!
