Men’s Vets E West v Geelong (R2)
In the top of the table clash (well, after two rounds) the E’s took on a very capable Geelong side at a rain swept Fortress Elgar.
It took some time to adjust to their skilful midfield and much of the first half was spent defending after easy turnovers. We regrouped at half time and concentrated on improving our pass selection with the result that first blood was to Kew half way through the second half.
This was unfortunately spoiled by their reply five minutes later. At the end it was agreed that we were showing positive signs for then season.
