Women’s PB v MUHC (R4)
The 2′s played on a sunny mothers day at Melbourne uni, after forking out $5 for parking and numerous parking machine problems we eventually were ready. Meanwhile Katie G ventured to Elgar Park, via Hawthorn and then back into Melbourne uni so she missed the kick off but played a good game when she took to the field.
Two quick goals by Melbourne Uni though did not help the cause, and they were not even spectacular goals, which made it even worse. Half time and we regrouped at 2-0 down, a score we could easily convert, or so we thought…
We had some short corners, Myers stepped up this week for the hits, she managed to hit the inside of the post, and a few celebrated but apparently no goal so we battled on. Next short corner a stroke was called after various Melbourne Uni players proceeded to get in the way of the ball going in the goals. Myers stepped up to the plate and put it on bottom left!
Though unfortunately we were just not able to link up and convert enough and Melbourne uni managed to slot in another goal. Some great balls from Lisa and Myers in the middle and some good work by the wings forcing the ball into the circle but it came to nothing We fought hard till the end leaving the score at 3-1 down. Bad luck girls, to next week!
