Women’s M1N v Hawthorn (R5)
T-Birds 0 defeated by Hawthorn 2
At 6.30 on a Sunday evening as the cold was setting in the T-Birds were entering the match against Hawthorn with a kicking back until Ally could get onto the ground. Luckily for the potential kicking back Fi volunteered to pad up for the first 15 mins which gave the team more confidence for the start of the match. The T-Birds were keen to get a score on the board after dominating last week, however the theme was the same as last week. We dominated the game and ensured that Hawthorn’s attacking moves were shut down.
The T-birds were able to bottle the ball up well in our half and were awarded numerous short corners, however when unable to get the ball into the goal. Unfortunately Hawthorn managed to get some fast breaks and scored twice in the second half. T-birds had one last chance with a short corner played out after the final whistle but were unable to convert, final score T-Birds 0 – Hawthorn 2.
