Women’s M1N v Southern (R6)

T-Birds Vs Southern

With a large change in players over the last couple of weeks and the lack of goals the T-Birds took on Southern at SHC.  The T-birds welcomed Bree and Stacey for their first games and also Claire Walker for filling in this week.

The T-Birds were keen to put a score on the board and hopefully win since it was Fi Allens last game before she jets off to the UK (strangely enough she isn’t willing to come back on the weekends to play!).

The T-Birds got off to a good start, wining the toss for once, from there on we were in control of the game.  Sarah scored four goals for the game! (2 for Sarah Hobson and 2 to Sarah Chancellor-Goddard).

In addition to Sarah Hobson’s 2 goals she also hit the post a couple times and the cross bar once.  With this kind of fire power in the forward line the T-Birds peppered the goals, unfortunately still unable to capitalise on the short corners.

Not to be out done by the two Sarah’s, both the Fi’s got into the action.  Fi Pickett nearly got carded for telling the umpire how to do his job and Fi Allen was close to scoring a goal, however only managed to take out Southerns goalie, flattening her for a few minutes.

The T-Birds worked well together and Stacey in her first game saved a couple of fast breaks which ensured Southern didn’t score.

Final score Kew 4 – Southern 0.
