Mens M1E v Dandenong (R7)
The 4B’s were once again back at the home of hockey but are still winless at Elgar this season. This match saw ninth take on third and the boys certainly made a good fist of it specifically in the second half.
The first half started promisingly with an early short corner and further forward pressure. However, Dandenong scored on the break and had the Cumbers behind the eight ball once again. KEW conceded a second goal after a scramble at the feet of the goal keeper. Despite this two goal buffer, KEW notched one back for the good guys through Jeremy Selkrig. Dandenong retaliated, unfortunately on the scorebaord. Half-time 1-3.
The second half saw the Cumbers come out with fire and determination and fully dominated Dandenong for the entire half. Again the finishing around the D and through penalty corners showed a serious flaw in the 4B’s and only managed one goal for their superior possession and attacking flair through Seb Fuente.
The M1E team is hungry for their second win of the seasona and will be definitley be looking to put on a show this Saturday against Knox before the Bus Rush.
Full time score: 2-4 (HT 1-3)
Goals: Selkrig (1), Fuente (1)
Best: Roberts, Fuente, McMahon, Mackenney
Next Game: M1E (9th) v Knox (3rd) 17:00 Saturday 13th June @ Elgar
