Women’s PB v MCC (R10)

The team inclusions this week included Ange, Kirsten, Speedy Jess Wilson and Kath Dyson back into the side. The stakes where high, a must win against MCC who were 2 points below us on the ladder.

We started slow, MCC scored early then they scored again, though we finally managed to get a short corner and Ange hit it in! 2-1 down at Half Time. We came back on after the grumpy umpire went off for us not responding to his whistle.

Grump umpire then proceeded to then be in fine form, Ange received a green card for no reason and also got told off her yelling to herself S*&T when she misdirected a pass. Chels also got a warning for making a tackle and the umpires developed a dislike for a few players for no reason, this made the match great fun but Kew kept there mouths shut so the umpire had no reasons to make anymore poor decisions.

The game was still ours, we lifted! There was a series of passes into the goal keeper and thanks to MCC a STROKE was the called. Kirsten put it in bottom right, the goal keeper went right was but was too weak to stop it.

But then, MCC scored … again … twice. 4-2

The Kew girls were building an attack, was it enough…

The next goal was scored by Kew, passes from the back from Chels to Kirsten to Ange to Jess Wilson and a goal was scored and MCC looked shocked. The game continued on, the dying minutes of the game the score was 4-3, could we get one back?

NO fairy tale ending here…U… the team played very well, a bit shaky at the start but we came back and played a really tough game and were unlucky to not come away with a draw. Thanks to Barney, Sarah’s dad, Soph’s grandpa for the excellent sideline support along with Hans and Avis.

4-3 loss

Goals: Ange, Kirsten, Jess
