Women’s M2S v ECHO (R13)
Well after a delayed start and an attempted speech from the stunned coach Kew got off to a slow start against ECHO. We are not sure if we where distracted by their uniforms or the slightly out of tune yelling by one of the Echo ladies, but we started to look a little bit like witches hats.
Which put the pressure on our stand in goalie Sue Clements, who was very excited everytime she made a save and so was everybody as ECHO continually pushed forward. But eventually we cracked and let a couple of goals through and it didn’t look good.
Halftime came and a chance to reflex and have a chat got Kew started to attack this game and with some strong play though Donna & the Jess’s we were able to force a number of shots on goal including a few short corners. But unfortunately that was a little like our first half, a bit rusty and not like the well oiled goal scoring machine we are use to.
We did manage to covert after a fast break from Wilson, which gave us hope but as we tired ECHO put a another couple away to put the result out of reach. A tough challenge this week, but it will be a wake up call for what will be required over the coming weeks to fight for a position in the 4. Thanks to Sue for Keeping and Alex & Steph C for filling in.
