Bern Hovenden
Members of the KEW Hockey Club are deeply saddened by the passing of Bern Hovenden, who died on Thursday, 6 August 2009. Bern played at Kew Hockey Club during the 1950’s and 1960’s and will be remembered as the truest of gentlemen. Bern’s impact on the Kew Hockey Club remains strong still today introducing his family to the sport of Hockey and indeed Kew Hockey Club. This impact is clearly highlighted as follows:
- Father to Peter Hovenden;
- Stepfather to Robin Reid, Bruce Reid and Graham Reid;
- Grandfather to Tim, Elise, Abbie, Nick, Penny, Melissa and Ashley Reid, Sophie, Sam and Sarah Osborne, Melanie Hovenden;
- Father-in-law to Dale Hovenden and Virginia Reid.
Bern’s Funeral is to be held at Le Pines Chapel, Burke Road Camberwell Tuesday 11 August 2009.
