Red Devils Trials
In line with Hockey Victoria’s new development Strategy, there will be 6 metropolitan and 4 regional zones competing in the Junior State Championships. The State Championships are a vital part of talented young players development, helping them to achieve the best of their potential.
Kew Junior HC is part of the North East Metro Zone – commonly known as the Red Devils. Please note that selection trials for the Red Devils commence very early in the season, so please carefully note the timelines on the attached information.

Another initiative from Ken Parkin – the Red Devils Head Coach – is that he will run a “Pre-Trial Programme” for players who
- were not selected for Red Devils last year, and
- have nominated for this year.
This terrific initiative is to aid the development of kids who get very close, but just miss out. It is stressed this is NOT part of the selection process (no selectors will attend). It is desinged to give players an idea of the standard required to be selected and hopefully correct some faults prior to the trials.
Also note that nominating for the trials this year will be online – through the Hockey Victoria website.
