Womens M2S v Baw Baw (R2)

With so many absentees the Metro 2 South team was made up this week-end of any player who could hold a hockey stick. We started the game off with a goal from Emma Schwarz. This was Emma’s first game since the arrival of her daughter Jamie. Dad, Jamie and Ludi were there on the side lines to cheer Mum on.

Everyone tried so hard but it certainly was not our day. Felicity McCall was very solid in defence and our centre half, Bree Claringbold, played a very determined game. Lauren Bleakley, one of our under 15 girls, played an excellent game.

Ally Franet was in Melbourne for the week end and played in goal for both the Metro 2 South and Metro 1 North teams. Ally, as usual, was in brilliant form. We held the opposition up until half time but , with a hamstring problem and not being fit, we ended up down 3 goals to 1 goal.
