Andrew Gale for the Australian Youth Olympic Squad
Following his selection in the U/18 Victorian side Andrew Gale was last month selected in the Australian Youth Olympic squad. Andrew is the 1st emergency for the team that plays in the inaugural Olympic competition and we’ll all be sweating on an injury or Derek Kickett style dropping so “Bluey†can get the call-up!
Not to be too disappointed, Bluey still gets an international cap in the U/16 Australian Schoolboys side that will tour Beijing later this year. The honour shouldn’t surprise anyone at the club – we’ve watched with anticipation and a fair share of pride at the rapid development of the kid with a mop of wonderful red hair. The honour comes with the customary financial burden of an overseas tour so please donate generously to the fundraising drive that Leyton and Wendy Gale are running around the club.
