Men’s PE v MCC (EF)

Kew 3 defeated MCC 1
It has often been said that pressure can determine one’s actions. Given that The Mighty fours had no pressure on Elimination Final Day, perhaps that is why they decided to play their best game of the year when it counted most.
Up until Monday morning, the Kew Boys were placed 6th on [...]

Men’s PE v Footscray (R9)

With 2 straight defeats the mighty fours had slipped to sixth on the ladder. The task of facing second placed Footscray was indeed daunting.

Men’s PE v Camberwell (R7)

It is a cliche but how true it rang on Sunday. Poor preparation equates to Poor performance. On Tuesday night, training was flat. Before the game, the mood was anything but upbeat. It was clear that some players cannot perform at Pennant level shall we say “under the weather”.

Men’s PE v Yarra (R6)

Perfect conditions, perfect time, what other incentive does a hockey player need to play for Kew? This is exactly what the 9 Kew players where thinking when they took to the field against a young, well coached Yarra Valley thirds team.

Men’s Pennant E v Southern (R5)

Finally the Barn Doors had a fixture that was bound to draw the biggest of crowds. Saturday 3.30 at The Kew Dome.
With Pommy Dan back from the motherland and Cracka back from coaching duties a more settled side took to the lush fields of Elgar against top of the ladder Southern United.
As expected southern was [...]

Men’s PE v (R3)

Monash 4 def Kew 2.
Goals K Nicholson and S Chang.
Another fantastic scheduling for 6.30 pm Saturday night at SHC1.
The Kew Chix forever loyal supporting the mighty fours.
Unfortunately, Monash had to much polish up forward and made the most of their opportunities up forward.
Kew was predictably very flat and that was reflected in the intensity in [...]

Men’s PE v MCC (R2)

2009 Pennant E Round 2
Sunday 5pm start @ Melbourne High School v. MCC is not exactly the ideal fixture in the best of conditions, let alone when it is 8 degrees. Conditions to truly test the mettle of a cumber!
As the MCC boys pranced in with the Victorian Bags, NHL tracksuits and old SL1 uniforms, [...]

Mens PE v Dandenong Preliminary Final

After another Thursday night session at the Harp, there was general optimism going into a game against a tough opponent who were only team to have beaten us twice during the season.

Mens PE v Monash Elimination Final

There is only one thing better than playing hockey… and that’s playing finals hockey. It was a magnificent morning to wake up on for the first day of the hockey play-offs. The e-word went around early from the Coach – drink water like its beer.

Mens PE v Camberwell

With their stacked line up, Camberwell had all of the play. Thankfully our ever reliable defense held out the constant attack, long enough for a break away which resulted in a short corner and subsequent goal. Despite only having a small amount of the play we lead 1-nil at half time.
