Men’s PB v Southern (EF)
KEW 4 – Southern 5
A thrashing of Waverley (7-1) the week before gave the PB boys every chance to play finals. Unfortunately things did not go to script and Southern beat Camberwell to edge a point in front of us. It was all down to Essendon (second last) to beat Greenborough (third). News filtered [...]
Men’s PB v Southern (R13)
Kew 2 – Southern United 1
Defence prevails.
With family day in full swing and the smell of roast beef rolls wafting over the ground it was important that at 12:30 on Sunday PB were ready to concentrate on one of the most important games of the season. Sitting just outside the top 4 and playing 3rd [...]
Men’s PB v Boro (R11)
PB Lost 2 – 5 to Greensborough
From the heat of Mumbai to a bitterly cold day at Elgar, Chris Harpers first outing as PB coach unfortunately did not end with a win. However Harps did bring a stability to the team that has been missing over the past month and this will no doubt have [...]
Men’s PB v Ess (R7)
Result – KEW 1 – ESS 2
1st vs 3rd match, and a result in Kew’s favour would have put a good gap between the two teams, making it a probably ‘two horse race’ at the middle of the season. But it wasn’t to be. A golden opportunity was definitely missed in this game, and TEM [...]
Men’s PB v Essendon (R6)
Kew Pen B Men’s – Round 6
Result – KEW 4 – ESS 3
Going into the round 6 match, Kew was second on the ladder and Essendon was 7th. But in no way would this be an easy game, after all, Essendon were playing at home…. at MUHC. A home game is a home game.
Men’s PB v Southern (R4)
Result – Kew 2 – Southern United 1
Southern United missed out on promotion to PenA last season only as a result of a loss in the Grand Final. SU are the only team in PenB who are the seconds behind a SL1 team, and really should be one of the stronger teams in the competition [...]
Men’s PB v MUHC (R3)
Result – Kew 4 – MUHC 4
MUHC went 3 goals up in the first 25 minutes. A start that was a real shock to the team, considering the solid way we had commenced the previous 2 rounds. I suspect this poor start was partly due to the forced reorganistaion of the Kew defence, and to [...]
Men’s PB v Greensborough (R2)
Result – Kew 3 – Greens 0
A miserable cold day at O’Plenty Reserve. A determined Kew Men’s Pen B team was ready for battle. The power of Greensborough was looking to devour a Kew team with 8 players under the age of 21. Kew hit them with persistent pressure and got the result required.
Two nil [...]
Men’s PB v MCC
Kew 3 def MCC 1
Steady start to the season, and in the end a comfortable win to the Men’s second team. Good hassle around the forward line and a well organized defense led to quality possession through the midfield, enough to create a high number of scoring opportunities, particularly in the first half. Second half [...]
Pennant A v MCC
They say dreams can come true. They certainly didn’t at 12:30pm on Saturday April 19th at Melbourne High School for the Kew Men’s Pennant A side.
