Kew vs Bendigo
Never let ladder position dictate how to approach a game…but we did feel a little more relaxed this week against Benders.  We had a win against then in pre season and first time around and they really were no match to Southern who thrashed them last week.

Collingwood vs Richmond at the G.  Our game at Albert Park.  Note to self…Allow extra 20 minutes to make sure I get there an hour before this very important game.  And another tip…don’t try Spencer Street as the alternate route to Punt Road.

While the coach is away…the mice will play.  Is that how the saying goes?
The Kew women really needed a win over Yarra.  Playing early on a Sunday again…could this lead to another costly result?  Luckily no.  We had a good solid win to get the momentum back with Kew before the run into [...]

The phrase is ‘Danger Game’.  A team lower than you that can cause problems for no apparent reason.  A team with a terrible home ground that can lower skills to a very basic level.  Yes…we were playing MUHC.

3-1(loss)
The anticipation during the week for this game was justified.  3 teams all sharing 30 points and only separated by goal difference on the top of the ladder.  This was Kew’s opportunity to leap frog and hold a top 2 position for 2009.

After watching the Kew 2nds smash Hawthorn, we were feeling fairly buoyant as we prepared ourselves to slay the 9th placed Geelong.  Things only improved as Bobby recalled perfectly the name of our opposition during the 3 cheers.  Things got even better 90 seconds later, as our forwards combined well to slot our first goal.

Saturday arvo saw the Kew girls venturing to stinky Werribee to get three big points. Travelling afar, we were fired up to defeat the bottom team, and within the first 20 minutes, Kew were dominating with 5 fast goals.

A group of 12 girls, 1 coach, 1 manager, 2 injured players and 2 VERY dedicated parents made the trip to Bendigo to view the Archibald exhibition.  After discussing our favourite painting over a cup of tea and scones we eventually made our way to the hockey ground.
