4th XI

Women’s M2S v TEMs (R18)

This round the Kew ladies helped support TEMS Breast Cancer Awareness weekend through a kind donation and wore pink ribbons that Avis tells me she wove herself. (Is there anything this lady can’t do) Fantastic effort by the TEMS club. Well last round for the season and it came down to this, if the Bourgh [...]

Women’s M2S v StkPH (R17)

Well after the rivalry round last weekend the team had to set their sights on putting away the Saints this weekend. Well the game got started, but I wouldn’t really say that we did. After 10 minutes of a warm up, we found a bit of space and started to weave around these ladies (didn’t [...]

Women’s M2S v ECHO (R13)

Well after a delayed start and an attempted speech from the stunned coach Kew got off to a slow start against ECHO. We are not sure if we where distracted by their uniforms or the slightly out of tune yelling by one of the Echo ladies, but we started to look a little bit like [...]

Women’s M2S v Footscray (R10)

The Girls were up against Footscray to kick off the 2nd half of the season and it was a challenging game from the start. Both teams making strong forward attacks, luckily our defence stood strong and repelled Footscray. But we were also unable to score after some strong offensive play from Leah & Steph.

Women’s M2S v TEM (R9)

The girls finished off the day of home games for all the Kew Women’s teams against lowly placed TEMs and unfortunately compared to last weeks game, we didn’t play our best.
With a very short warm up session before game we really never got out of 2nd gear and were very flat. We had limited highlight’s [...]

Women’s M2S v MCC (R7)

Well unfortunately the 4ths continued a pretty poor weekend for the Club going down 2-1 after being in front at half time. They came up against a bitter rival in MCC who the girls embarrassed in last years GF. But I think MCC came a little more fired up for this game, as Kew had [...]

Women’s M2S v Mentone (R6)

A top of the table stoush and what do you know we are hunting around under rocks to find players? Not an ideal lead-in but once we hit the ground we were up for the challenge. Mentone put the pressure on early and scored through an unlucky deflection. But as the half continued Kew gradually [...]

Women’s M2S v Camberwell (R5)

Kew 1 drew Camberwell 1
This week the Ladies turned up to play and it was a great match against tough opponent. Camberwell showed that they were worthy challenges with a couple of early fast breaks down both wings to spark our defence into action. Meters gained in attacked were hard earned by both teams, Kew’s [...]

Women’s M2S v ECHO (R4)

Another round, another challenger and this week it was Echo. This week the 4ths also welcomed Sarah Hobson to the team & the club. Each week is a learning experience for the 4ths in the Metro 2 league as they find the competition is tougher and fitter than last year and this week was no [...]

Women’s M2S v Waverley (R3)

Well we all turned up rather confused, as the weather appeared to be sunny and warm. Nice day for Hockey and a nice day for the 4ths to go for their first win for the season.

This week the 4ths welcomed Leah to the team. The Waverley team had a couple of rough nuts applying dirty [...]
